Halloween is one of the few times of the year when you can dress however you want and be whomever you want. Undoubtedly one of the most magical holidays of the year, kids both love it and love the candy and treats they get from it! However, for kids to have fun and be safe, there are some things to keep in mind to protect your child on Halloween.
Some of those tips are below:
· Kids under the age of 12 should never go trick or treating without a responsible and trusted adult or teen sibling accompanying them.
· Ensure that younger children know how to dial 911 or know your phone number in the event you get separated from them or the group they’re with.
· Make sure kids old enough to have a cell phone carry their phones with them during festivities and ensure the device is fully charged before allowing them to leave.
· Tell them to NEVER go into a stranger’s house or get into a stranger’s car when asked.
· Tell them to only trick or treat in the neighborhood and places they know, and encourage them to avoid alleyways or areas they aren’t familiar with.
· Tell them to only go to houses with their porch lights on, and to not take homemade goods from anyone they don’t know.
· And more!
